A framework is a toolset to simplify or/and to make the development process more effective.

Hi all!

I'm sharing a tool for data ingestion that we have used in some projects.

DataPipe is an interoperability framework for data ingestion in InterSystems IRIS in a flexible way. It allows you to receive data from external sources, normalize and validate the information and finally perform whatever operation you need with your data.

Model

In first place, you need to define a model. A model is simply a class that extends from DataPipe.

Hey community!

It's time to elevate your unit tests to the next level with iris-TripleSlash new solo feature!

We are bring to the game Setup and Tear down events!
Just add description on class, with special tags like:

  • beforeAll
  • beforeOne
  • afterAll
  • afterOne

The tripleSlash will turn it to:

  • OnBeforeAllTests
  • OnBeforeOneTest
  • OnAfterAllTests
  • OnAfterOneTest

And that's not all! The new double dot abbreviation feature allows you to effortlessly call methods and simplify your code, i.e.:

///<example>
/// Write .

This formation, accessible on my GitHub, will cover, in half a hour, how to read and write in csv and txt files, insert and get inside the IRIS database and a distant database using Postgres or how to use a FLASK API, all of that using the Interoperability framework using ONLY Python following the PEP8 convention.

This formation can mostly be done using copy paste and will guide you through everystep before challenging you with a global exercise.
We are available to answer any question or doubt in the comment of that post, on teams or even by mail at lucas.enard@intersystems.com .

I wrote a step by step tutorial in the qewd-howtos repository how you can write state of the art multi-page web apps with Node.js using a QEWD-Up WebSocket/REST api back-end integrated with a mainstream web framework like NuxtJS & Vue.js. In particular with the latest NuxtJS/Vue.js frameworks, writing web applications becomes fun again, allowing you to write your applications very efficiently, hiding all boilerplate code from you.

The tutorial should be very easy to try out on your development machine and consists of two parts:

Over the past year or so, my team (Application Services at InterSystems - tasked with building and maintaining many of our internal applications, and providing tools and best practices for other departmental applications) has embarked on a journey toward building Angular/REST-based user interfaces to existing applications originally built using CSP and/or Zen. This has presented an interesting challenge that may be familiar to many of you - building out new REST APIs to existing data models and business logic.

I'm glad to announce we have recently released our second Starter Pack. This one is for the Mining Industry, and the first was for Industrial IoT (OEE).

But what does it exactly mean?

InterSystems IRIS Starter Packs (thanks to Joe Lichtenberg that helped with this text)

InterSystems IRIS Starter Packs are codebases built by an InterSystems partner using InterSystems IRIS Data Platform that shortens the time to develop a complete application that addresses a specific industry or technology challenge. It is not a completed application.

Creating a Chatbot with IRIS and Python

In this article I'm going to show how to integrate the InterSystems IRIS Database with Python to serve a Machine Learning Model of Natural Language Processing (NLP).

Why Python?

With a large adoption and use in the world, Python have a great community and a lot of accelerators | libraries to deploy any kind of application. If you are curious (https://www.python.org/about/apps/).

Iris Globals

As I start to learn about ^globals they became familiar to use as a fast way to ingest data in a out-of-box data model.
