Hello community;

  • My name is Robert C. Cemper, graduate engineer from Vienna Technical University
  • I'm Austrian, born and still living in Vienna for 77 years. I'm married once and have 3 aged children.
  • Over the years I worked with several big companies in the emerging IT market, like SIEMENS, Olivetti, Digital Equipment, Compaq, ... finally InterSystems. My special story with InterSystems is available in this article 45 Years with Intersystems
  • Actually I'm  "retired but not tired" and follow Developer Community with unbroken interest. Especially because I had a similar proposal 10 years before it finally materialized. My feelings for it are quite similar to a grandfather
  • My special interests are the core functionalities of the Global Storage, ObjectScript and SQL
  • Working close to the internals is my core competence, but also all network stuff. Actually im focusing on  Docker in the OpenExchange environment.
  • My top hobby are computers for about 60 years and my whole career was based on it. I started with a console panel with toggle switches for the address and some others for the content. One of my teachers built the first transistor based computer in Europe.  Other hobbies like music, theater, skiing, hiking, biking, travel to other countries changed importance over time. At my retirement I returned to University to catch up with progress in Physics, especially Quantum Physics, Cosmology, Paleology, ... I also added Latin to my set of 4 spoken + 2 written languages.
  • I stopped LinkedIn as I was spammed by unacceptable job offers.
  • Due to health and social limitations I will not attend  READY 2025

Hi community:

  • My name is Francisco López, AKA Kurro López
  • I'm from Spain, born and living in Málaga (Andalusia) in southern Spain, close to Mediterranean Sea.
  • Working as project manager in Salutic Soluciones, SL. This company is dedicated to creating software for medical management and services for health insurance companies.
  • I have extensive programming experience in several languages, from Clipper 87 to C#, including Python, PowerBuilder, Visual Basic, and, of course, ObjectScript. I've spent a long career dedicated to programming and the technical and functional analysis of new processes. I love programming in IRIS because it gives me a lot of freedom when generating complex workflows that would be much slower to complete with other languages.
  • My main hobby is the mountains. I love long walks, hiking, and discovering new places. I used to do mountain running, but my knees aren't what they used to be.
  • LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/franciscolopezdelasheras/
  • I won't be attending READY 2025 this year, but I have attended in previous years and it's a great experience that everyone should go to at least once.

Hey everyone!

  • Name - Julian
  • Where you’re from / based - United Kingdom
  • What you do (your role / company / areas of interest) - On paper, I'm a developer in the NHS. However like so many here, I'm very much a jack of all trades.
  • Expertise
    • HL7 (V2/FHIR)
    • Objectscript
    • OpenEHR
    • Poking around so many different clinical systems' front and back ends
  • Fun Fact or Hobbies – I do enjoy flying FPV drones, but live in a country where the weather is constantly fighting against that enjoyment.
  • LinkedIn - it's here however I must warn that my network is an eclectic mix of our industry, and then people in the space of event and crowd safety, with some drones thrown into the mix.

I'm David Hockenbroch, and I'm based out of Memphis Tennessee. I'm a senior analyst here at WoodWare, so I get into all kinds of things. Lately that includes spending a lot of time considering how to get some really old pieces of software that were written in VB6 or using Zen pages into something that's supported now.

I'm a big food person, so Memphis is a good place for me! I also enjoy being outside or taking in a good story, whether that's a movie, book, TV show, or even a well-written videogame.

I will not be at READY 2025. I look at the session list every year, and it seems very healthcare-focused. I'm not in health care, so I always question whether it's worth the trip for me. We write business software. I do typically catch up on some of the keynotes online, though.

Great to meet everyone!

Hello,

  • My name is Craig Bishop. I have a BA in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MS in Healthcare Administration from Texas Tech University.
  •  I live in Lubbock, Texas. My family and I moved here so I could attend grad school at TTU, and we're finding it a good place to live. I am married, and have 4 kids in home school. I work from home as well, so there is always something happening in our house.
  • I started my career working as an IT consultant before focusing on Healthcare IT beginning in 2012. I have worked with large healthcare organizations and medical centers before being introduced to  the InterSystems platform almost 4 years ago. My current role is a Senior Consultant with J2 Interactive where I have worked for the past 3 years. My main area of focus is working with HIEs and interfacing with distributed healthcare locations to improve patient experience.
  • I have worked with several EHR software applications, so one of my areas of expertise is interfacing with a wide variety of EHRs. I would say InterSystems and Oracle Health are the 2 largest platforms I have worked with, and I am excited to learn something new with InterSystems everyday. I enjoy being in a consultant situation and having the opportunity to explain technical details to non-technical personnel.
  • Fun facts about me: I like to tent camp and hike with my family. We love to get out in nature and spend the day exploring the country-side. My family also is very active in our church. The rest of my time is spent with my family playing board games or going to parks.

Hello very helpful community,

My name is Ewan Whyte and I'm based in the UK and I work within the NHS as a developer (so patients need not worry that I am providing their clinical care).

I like working with SQL, C++ and ObjectScript (of course), pretty sure that I don't have any areas of expertise except but I am getting pretty good at correcting my own mistakes.

If it weren't for having to work, I would attend as many gigs as possible as listening to live music is so addictive.

Hi everyone,

  • My name is Andrew
  • I am living in Thailand
  • I am a Senior Software Engineer, and sometimes work as an Integration Architect
  • I work on and support a huge implementation of IRIS as an Enterprise Service Bus. Actually, I think it is one of the biggest IRIS instances that is used exactly as a Service Bus (maybe the biggest). We do not have a very intensive inbound data flow, this is around 300 RPS, but my Productions contains thousands of Business Hosts, dozens of combined systems, and an amount of transmitted data of around 2 TB per week. So, my specialization is Interoperability. Feel free to ask me about app integration. BTW, I'm looking for an additional job for now.
  • My hobby is sports. Here in Thailand, all men must learn Muay Thai. It's a joke, of course, but Thailand and Thai boxing it is like Dagestan and wrestling. Maybe one day I'll change all these boring globals to the fighter's way 😁 (subscribe to my fighter Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/andrey.sklyaroff )

  • Where you’re from / based: I'm from Valladolid, a medium-size (Spain-standard) city in the center-north of Spain, but I'm working in Madrid.
  • What you do (your role / company / areas of interest): I'm sales engineer for InterSystems Iberia.
  • Expertise – I've been working as Java developer for 15 years and as Sales Engineer for the last 5...ufff, 20 years of experience! I feel myself a bit old...About 17 years working for Health sector.
  • Fun Fact or Hobbies – I love the history and my 5 years old son too! When somebody ask him about what is his favourite superhero he always answers...Julius Cesar!
