Second part of the InterSystems READY 2026 recap
As promised, here comes the second part.
But before I begin, here's the view from my hotel window in Boston, where I went before the READY. And a grand building on the right is the office of InterSystems. Not bad, ha?
Anyway, after getting some sleep after the Demos and Drinks the day before, we were back at it the next day, which started with more keynotes.
@Don Woodlock talked about AI and how it's leveraged in InterSystems.
Then, @Scott Gnau gave the highlights about IRIS Data Platform and how AI is used at every stage.
Afterward, @Gokhan Uluderya introduced a presentation by @Jeff Fried and @Benjamin De Boe from which everyone learned that Benjamin would rather write a select statement than feed poor, hungry, defenseless squirrels 🤯 Is he even a human being or a robot powered by AI?!
At this point, the Developer Community table was fully warmed up, and we had a steady flow of visitors.
@Iryna Mykhailova, @Tani Frankel, @Olga Zavrazhnova
While people at other tables were actively discussing the fate of Python (@Guillaume Rongier and @Raj Singh, among others).
Then came our moment - the Developer Community & Ecosystem session. We promised a quick session. We promised a game. We promised prizes. And we delivered 😄 We talked about everything that makes the ecosystem what it is: Developer Community, Open Exchange, Global Masters, Ideas Portal, and how all of it comes together to actually help developers streamline their workflows (and not just sound good on slides).
The room filled up quickly, phones came out, and for the next 20 minutes, it was a mix of learning, listening, and very intense Kahoot concentration faces.
Congratulations to our winners (and those 2 people who knew that you could submit bug reports via the Ideas Portal): @Pietro Di Leo, @Enrico Parisi, @Sergei Shutov and @Ben Spead, @Rochael Ribeiro, @Eduard Lebedyuk!
If you missed it (or want to relive the Kahoot pressure), you can watch the recording here: Developer Community and Ecosystem session from READY 2026.
This awesome day ended at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC. If you haven't been there, I would definitely recommend visiting. Just to give you the taste:

All real deal!
Well, this one isn't 🤪.
And let's not forget the best band ever - Integrity Check
With the groupies 😁
@Chris Reilly, Neil Aggarwal, @Iryna Mykhailova, @Don Woodlock, @Anastasia Dyubaylo, @Randy Pallotta, @Cherie Goodrick
The second day ended on a very high note, but the last one did not disappoint as well.
During the keynotes, @John Paladino congratulated the Impact Award winners, and in this list, you can see the companies whose employees are known to this Community.
Afterward, there was our last session about startups and venture fund, led by @Dean Andrews and @Mariam Makhmutova.
Amid all this excitement, I managed to corner our Spanish DC manager @David Reche.
And the team from the French DC (@Lorenzo Scalese and @Guillaume Rongier).
To answer your question, this year I was quite restrained in my choice of stickers. Those 3 lines read: Certified troublemaker powered by the Developer Community. All true 😄
Anyway, it's the end of READY 2026. Let's meet at InterSystems READY 2027, June 13 – June 16, 2027 at Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, Orlando, FL. Go get those park tickets for before or after the READY!
If you made it this far, thank you for reading (and for surviving READY with us 😄)
Now tell me, what was your highlight?
