Why is Atelier 1.1's "Compare With Server's Copy" option not available from document context menu?

When server-side source control such as Deltanji is being used with Atelier we sometimes want to re-sync the local Atelier copy of a class or routine by pulling the copy from the server.

The 1.1 beta (I have build 351) adds a new option "Server's Copy" to the "Compare With" and "Replace With" submenus on the document's context menu:

But I have a couple of questions about this.

First, why does it only happen from the context menu launched from the Atelier Explorer, and not also from the one I get from the body of the document itself, i.e.

Second, why is the option disabled on the "Replace With" menu?

If DC isn't the best place to report this kind of thing, I'd willingly use WRC except that there doesn't seem to be a way of creating a ticket about Atelier. The only product options I'm offered are Caché, Ensemble and HealthShare.

On your second question: The grayed out option (Server's copy) and the missing equivalent options have not yet been implemented. All four ways should be available by the time 1.1 will be released.

Hi John,

To answer your first question - I just looked over the development change that implemented the compare with server option. The developer commented that this has only been implemented in the Atelier Explorer context menu so far and that this feature will be coming up in the Editor context menu. I don't have a timeline for you on that.

I'll have to let someone from the development team speak to your second question. I'm not sure why the replace with server option appears and is disabled.

As a member of the Support team, I also wanted to let you know that you can absolutely file a WRC case with Atelier questions! The product options we provide are intended to find out which of our server products you are using. Feel free to ask any Atelier questions you'd prefer to keep separate from the Developer Community in the WRC (for example, if you have a question that you expect will require a lot of back-and-forth to reach a conclusion).

Thanks for the info so far Nicole. Just wondering why you posted it as a comment rather than an answer. Maybe because the DC UI is still confusing in this regard?

I added it as a comment because there is still an unanswered question (why the Server option is disabled in the Replace With menu). So I figured I'd leave the post without an answer until each of your questions has an answer.

That makes sense Nicole. Just wanted to check in case your experience of the DC UI in this case was further evidence of the comment vs answer confusion we've seen elsewhere in DC.
