[Resolved]Persistent data transfer

Hi All,

What will be the best way to transfer the persistent data stored in the SQL tables from one instance of Healthshare to a new instance ?  Is there any InterSystem recommended process or documentation for this?

Thanks,

Mary

Hello,

I recommend either ways:

1. copy the *.DAT file to new server: for this you need to dismount the DB on source before copy (so you have downtime), mount it and do a merge between 2 DB/Namespaces.

2. Do a (hot) backup for the DB that has the table  = NO downtime (!) - then copy the *.BCK file to other server, restore to a NEW DB and merge.
This is slower - but downtime is 0

Export import globals can work too.

If you need some help doing it, feel free to ping me on LinkedIn.

Thank you @Neerav Adam Verma

What is the best way to export global,  is it from management portal or the terminal export?

Both are good.

Search documentation and you will get exact steps.

Still if you can't do it, let me know.
