Journal file I/O error

One of my journal spaces has status "IOER" in MSM MUMPS.

I think this is happend during system freeze.

I never seeing a journal file status like that. I did not find anything about it in the intersystems documentation.

I can simply delete the damaged file, but I'd like to know how to prevent this from happening.

Anyone have some idea about it?

My MSM-UNIX Version is 4.4.0.

Rafael,

The only times I have ever seen this happen is when there was an error returned from the OS while MSM was trying to access the file. I would recommend that you simply delete and recreate the file. If it happens again check all the log files including the OS logs and 'msmlog' for any errors or other indications of an I/O problem. Beyond that you should log a support call with us at 'support@intersystems.com' if it is a chronic problem, and I can help you get to the bottom of it.

Many thanks for your return.

My event log through "errpt -a" on AIX did not record any relevant events at the time of MSM crash.

My "msmlog" is a little more complex, maybe we can find out something by analyzing it.

I will follow your advice and write to the indicated email.
