Сonnection to a remote database

Hello! Need help...
Please tell a newbie how to connect to a remote database.
OS Centos 7, WebServer type Apache, version cache - cache-2014.1.5.851.1-lnxrhx64,
license:
[ConfigFile]
FileType=License 5.1

[License]
LicenseCapacity=Cache 5.0 Entree - Concurrent Users for Intel (Linux):40, Multi-Server
CustomerName=...
OrderNumber=2010...
ExpirationDate=4/26/2036
AuthorizationKey=...
MachineID=

Tried to connect to a remote database through the ECP server. Writes that - The Cache license does not support ECP. I understand that there must be another cache.key for ECP? Then how to connect two servers for data exchange????

thanks..

Product version: Caché 2014.1

to use ECP you need a MultiServer License. Entree (the smallest, cheapest) is note suited for it.

Thanks for the tip. But we have a license specifically for MultiServer.
(LicenseCapacity=Cache 5.0 Entree - Concurrent Users for Intel (Linux):40, Multi-Server).
Now in the old version (Cache 2005 FileType=License 4.1) we use a distributed database. I would like to switch to a newer version of Cache2014/Cache2018

Does the other instance use the same license? All instances must use the multi server option

Yes, the license is the same for all instances. Thanks for the answer.
Can eat any utility for communication of several databases, servers?? Or is it only done through ECP? With the old version (Cache 2005), ECP was configured without problems. Now in the new version (Сache 2014, Сache 2018) when configuring ECP, it says - The Cache license does not support ECP (((
What does an ECP key look like???

"Unfortunately" ECP is the only method to connect remote databases. Maybe it's a license-server-problem. Could you please check that both instances are using the same license server?

Let's say, both systems are placed in a domain jetsons.com. There are two systems each of them has a Caché-instance running. System-1 is called betty and system-2 called wilma.

So we have:
System1: betty.jetsons.com / Caché-Instance = barney
System2: wilma.jetsons.com / Caché-Instance = fred

System1: License-Port = 4001 (you may use another port instead of default), License-Server = betty.jetsons.com
System2: Same licensing-information as on System1 (betty.jetsons.com:4001 (or another port you defined there)

After doing so, restart both instances and check cconsole.log if license server was started on both systems.

And if that doesn't help then you should contact WRC.

Please keep in mind that the service ECP (Administration -> Security -> Services) must be running.

Maybe you need an upgrade of the license. I remember that we had to do it when we installed a newer version. To do so you also have to contact Intersystems-WRC

Hope, that will help you :-)

Thanks Peter for the reply! Can I send you a personal message?

Yes, you may do so, but I told everything I know about ECP

You can use SQL Gateway to select / modify tables in external databases

Of course, it is possible to organize the exchange of files between databases and in other ways, but I'm very interested, why our license does not support ECP, if it's for Multi-Server?

"Why our license does not support ECP, if it's for Multi-Server?"

That's the different question from the one you asked in the post. I suggest you contact your Account Manager in InterSystems.

Intersystems support was from 2005 to 2018, the last key they sent was in 2010.We currently do not have support . Tell me please, who to contact for license update

Your account manager. If you don't know who this is -- contact the InterSystems office that issued you a license. Or contact WRC.

I, unfortunately, do not have access to the WRC, because there is no support. The office that issued the license has closed(
