Hi Developers,

We'd like to highlight some outstanding projects created during the European Healthcare Hackathon 2023 in Prague.

Participants were presented with nine real-world healthcare challenges by IKEM and AstraZeneca.
InterSystems introduced to the participants an opportunity to use the FHIR repository and perform FHIR availability into their solutions by providing FHIR cloud services on AWS.

Meet the winners of our challenge:

1st place Čarodějové (PathoSync)

"The PathoSync software is a solid base for complex pathologist platforms. With the use of custom mapping, any laboratory can project their data into FHIR7 standard, which soon will be mandatory worldwide. This makes the digitalization process smoother. The connection with InterSystems assures quality and implements many healthcare features. Furthermore, the GDPR norms are strictly followed using the FHIR server based in Europe, so the usage of software follows the European standards."

The 2023.1.3 extended maintenance releases of InterSystems IRIS, InterSystems IRIS for Health, and HealthShare Health Connect is now available. It provides bug fixes for any of the previous 2023.1.x releases.

In case you're planning on deploying IRIS For Health, or any of our containerized products, via the IKO on OpenShift, I wanted to share some of the hurdles we had to overcome.

As with any IKO based installation, we first need to deploy the IKO itself. However we were getting this error:

In ObjectScript you have a wide collection of functions that return some value
typically:

set variable = $somefunction(param1,param2, ...)

There is nothing special about that.
But there is a set of functions that I classify as LEFT SIDED
The specialty of them is that you can use them also on the left of the equal operator
as a target in the SET command:

set $somefunction(param1,param2, ...) = value

For one of the reports I need to produce through Logi, I need to create a parameter/filter and pre-populate it with items from a query. Has anyone done that before? And if so how did you do it?

The InterSystems IRIS has a series of facilitators to capture, persist, interoperate, and generate analytical information from data in XML format. This article will demonstrate how to do the following:

1. Capture XML (via a file in our example);
2. Process the data captured in interoperability;
3. Persist XML in persistent entities/tables;
4. Create analytical views for the captured XML data.
