Studio is a client application, built using Caché objects, that runs on Windows-based operating systems. It can connect to any Caché server (compatible with the current version of Studio) regardless of what platform and operating system that server is using.
Hope someone can help me, so i was developing a script and during the tests I was using the csession to execute a method. Also i thought i had to stop the instance i was using, so I used the ccontrol stop [instanceName] to stop the instance, but when i restarted the instance i got this error trying to start my production, I have an idea of what's the problem but i don't know how to fix it.

It's well-known among Studio users that besides few predefined code fragments (for ObjectScript, Basic, MV Basic) it's possible to add user-defined code fragments. I found it rather convenient to use them as patterns that help to follow some conventions (internal standards) of writing, say, methods descriptions.
But I didn't find a way how to share these patterns, except dumb copy-pasting. Did somebody succeed with this task? Any help would be appreciated.
I have a question about something in Studio that has been bugging me for a while. Why does the font of some items in the Classes treeview (View > Class View) appear in italics whilst others do not?
It's well-known that Studio and probably VS Code have options to expand ObjectScript commands and functions to their full names (Ctrl-E and Ctrl-Shift-E in Studio), therefore some methods to accomplish this should exist. The question is: how to do it programmatically?
In the wew versions of IRIS the Studio is going to be deprecated. In the Studio when editing classes there is an option to add information at package level, with the option "Package Information" that shows this dialog:
In VSCode there is the option to add/edit this package information? If no, how can one add/edit this information without the Studio?
I am hoping some of you network guys have ideas. InterSystems seems to be at a standstill. When I startup Studio and try to start Terminal I get License Limit Exceeded. Starting with Terminal and going to Studio, same thing. It started when I put down a 2016 version of Cache on top of a 2015. InterSystems told me to uninstall everything and start fresh. I did that but have the same problems. What can I look at? How do I start to debug this? Although I am the only one on my PC it is really impacting my performance.
I recently encountered a issue with Caché and I can't figure out where the problem is coming from.
I noticed that the license limit (200) was reached whenever I was opening my Studio (so it seems). When this occurs, I restart Caché (with the Cube in the Taskbar), and the number of license used is back to 1%, but grows back after. The time taken before the number of license grows back again looks pretty random.
On one HealthShare servers (RH Linux, 2017.1.1), I am not able to login to Studio for this server. When I select the server connection from the notification tray icon, choosing Remote System Access, Studio, then the server, the error I getting is:
Unable to log on to server {Server Name}
Communication link failure
I've tried using both DNS name and IP address, same result. Using Atelier, I am able to connect to the server using the same DNS name and Web Server Port that I'm trying in Studio.
Does someone knows if any Studio version or, if in its new versions, it will be able to recognize new Javascript statements like arrow function, let, const etc ?
At the Global Summit several folks had mention that they developed their own production monitor. I am looking to create a monitor similar to eGate that we only display those Services/Processes/Operations that are in trouble, and those Errors that are showing up in the Event Log. Does anyone have any examples of this?
Apologies if this has been asked already but I was not able to find it. When I look at the Add/Edit screen I see authentication methods of Password and Kerberos and am wondering if passing an identify file is supported.
Atelier is not translating the indentation spaces used to format XDATA sections in Cache Studio. Lack of these spaces makes the XDATA difficult to read. The styling (coloring) of the code is working just fine. Also, it appears that other class code indentation works fine.
Is anyone else seeing this issue? Has there been any discussion when this issue might be addressed by InterSystems? How shall I get some attention to this issue?
I am looking to find a way to search Studio and find transforms that do NOT contain certain string or logic. How can I find the ones that do not have that string?
I would like to create a toolbar button in Cache Studio. After clicking on it, it would run a custom command (eg: to execute a routine that will clean a global).
I took a look at dialog that is shown after right clicking on a toolbar in Studio, then choosing "Customize" but AFAIK there is nothing there that allow such a thing.
I know it's possible to customize menu items by extending %Studio.SourceControl.Base class, is there something similar for toolbars ?
Here is some base code example (based on Danny Wijnschenk answer) :
I have ROUTINE for Get Data end of day. Routine Name is "getTicket.mac" . previously i execute at studio using this command to get data
w $$getTicket^production.etl.getTicket() and the result success as we want, in this case i want execute routine using BS ( Business Service ) and i want this routine execute every night at 12.00 AM
Cache Studio's inspector window can show me a Cache class's properties, methods parameters, XDATA blocks, Triggers, Foreign Keys, Queries and more, in a table in the Inspector window. Additionally, for properties, where the property accepts parameters, these parameters are listed together with possible value choices.
Hello, I will. Cls file (including Chinese comments) directly into the ensemble studio, studio tips imported successfully through the udl file, but my Chinese comment does not display properly, how do I deal with? Thank you!
I am using a Windows 7 system, ensemble 2016, .cls file I am currently using UTF-8 encoding.
Ok so I am way outside of my comfort zone, and had to build an application using CSP to give users the ability to access SQL configuration tables. These SQL Configuration tables will affect the data that is sent to the downstream system.
I saw in the examples where we were able to import GIF's/IMAGES into the CSP folders to use as a reference in our CSP pages. My question is how do you do that? If I try to import through studio, it tells me the file is invalid.
Just trying to make it a little more user friendly then blocks on a page.
Please, I am having trouble connecting to one of several Health Share servers using ISC's Visual Studio Code add-on.
Installation seemed to go smoothly. I have InterSystems's Studio and was able to automatically pull in my existing connections. However when I try to make a connection it fails.
Here is a configuration of one connection slightly edited for security:
