SQL is a standard language for storing, manipulating and retrieving data in relational databases.

Question Luis Dellán · Mar 10

How to execute a stored procedure in a remote DB2 database?

Hi Everyone,

I want to access a stored procedure in a remote DB2 database. The stored procedure in question is linked and receives a numeric value, returning a cursor with N number of rows. Sometimes the number of rows reaches hundreds of thousands, so I need to apply pagination.

I've been reading about the %ScrollableResultSet library, but it doesn't allow me to call a stored procedure.

Here's part of the code:
Set pValor=12345678
Set callSql="CALL Paquete.ClaseSpRemoto(?)"
Set rs=##class(%ScrollableResultSet).

Hello everyone,

I’m trying to find a way to manage globals from our Java application. We have two separate features:

  • Managing tables normally using SQL

  • Managing globals, since some globals exist without class or table definitions

Cache version : Cache for UNIX (Red Hat Enterprise Linux for x86-64) 2016.1.1 (Build 108U_SU), Thu Jul 7 2016 09:39:04 EDT

I tried to retrieve the globals tree, update node values, and append nodes using SQL by calling stored procedures, but I couldn’t find any procedures for adding, updating, or deleting nodes.

I also tried using cacheextreme.

Hello!

I'm trying to create some foreign tables to a PostgreSQL database. In some cases, columns with certain datatypes cannot be consumed by IRIS and the following error is thrown:

 [SQLCODE: <-237>:<Schema import for foreign table did not return column metadata>]

  [%msg: <Unkown data type returned by external database>]

For example: serial4 typed ID columns are typical examples. Is it possible, what's the best way of resolving these datatypes, which- seemingly- don't have proper JDBC metadata mappings?

I am testing vectorsearch, while doing so I am trying to paginate my resultset for a "next page" function to give me the first, second, third 15 entries within a table.

For this I have two embedding classes. One with a HNSW Index (vectornomicembedtextlatest), and one without (vectornomicembedtexttest).

Calling SELECT ID,PRIMKEY FROM SQLUser.vectornomicembedtexttest LIMIT 5 OFFSET 1 works fine with the first entry having the rowID of 486448. (I deleted old entries in the beginning and reused the table)

SELECT ID,PRIMKEY FROM SQLUser.

Hi Community,

I've created a method in my File Service to do a cleanup for every file load. Currently, I've set it to delete data when LastUpdated date is greater than maxdate. However, I want to do a cleanup for every new file load. Any suggestions or advice on how to do this? Thanks!

Method Cleanup()
{

   Set tMaxDate = ""
   &SQL(SELECT Max(LastUpdated) into :tMaxDate
   FROM MC_Table_Data.Patient)

   &SQL(DELETE MC_Table_Data.Patient WHERE LastUpdated<:tMaxDate)
}

Hello My Friends,

I have a question how to use order by %DLIST, this is my code:

SELECT

$ListToString(%DLIST(DISTINCT MRDIA_ICDCode_DR->MRCID_Code),', ' ) ICDX,

$ListToString(%DLIST(DISTINCT (MRDIA_ICDCode_DR->MRCID_Desc || ' (' || MRDIA_DiagnosisType_DR->DTYP_Code || ')')),', ' ) Diagnose

FROM SQLUser.PA_Adm

LEFT JOIN SQLUser.PA_AdmInsurance ON (PAADM_RowID = INS_ParRef AND INS_Rank = 1)

LEFT JOIN SQLUser.PA_AdmPackage ON (PAADM_RowID = PACK_ParRef)

LEFT JOIN SQLUser.MR_Adm on MRADM_ADM_DR = PAADM_RowID

LEFT JOIN SQLUser.MR_Diagnos ON MRADM_RowId = MRDIA_MRADM_ParRef

LEFT JOIN SQLUser.

Question Chen Xinqi · Aug 9, 2024

when doing ETL process from cache database to mysql database(ods) and to another mysql database(dwd).

There are  lots of DR columns in one table.

In the first step we need two databases to be totally consistent(ods=cache database)

However, the DR column in another database lost its meaning and become to normal number.

In the last step we do the data governance in ODS to DWD. My question is how to write sql without many `join` in this step.

Hello Community,

I'm executing the same query with same  column name but in different case. An unique cached query generated while query executed first time. The query preparser only normalize the keywords and send to the SQL engine generates the Hash. Eventually use the cached query next use.

Now my question, The hash values are same for both of the queries. Then why it creates two cached queries.

Query1: select * from MyLearn.Test where Name['Kev1'

Query2: select * from MyLearn.Test where NamE['Kev1'

Thanks!

I am exporting data from Cache using the SQL export wizard. This is on a docker image of Cache hosted on a Linux server.
I select my database, schema, and table, make sure that all columns are being exported, check other settings, and then finish the export.
All server settings look correct and permissions are rwe on the directory. I have tried various directories, including a system level directory. I tried creating the file before I do the export in case there was an issue with creating the files, and I also made sure the created files had rwe permisisons.

Question Tani Frankel · Feb 1, 2024

Is it possible to authenticate an xDBC (ODBC/JDBC) connection to InterSystems IRIS via (a 3rd party) OAuth server?

For REST APIs this is possible, but could this be achieved with OAuth?

Out-of-the-box the ODBC/JDBC Drivers don't seem to have this option, but maybe some custom code could enable this? perhaps via Delegated Authentication and some OAuth classes customization, or some other way?

Has anyone done this already and can share how it was implemented, or someone with some guideline suggestions?

Hi,

I'm trying to access to my datas stored in a RecordMap from SQLAlchemy, and I need to access to any tables already created before using SQLAlchemy.

Here is some part of my code :

TestBase:

class TestBase(DeclarativeBase):
    CreatedAt: Mapped[int] = mapped_column(TIMESTAMP, default=func.now())
    UpdatedAt: Mapped[int] = mapped_column(TIMESTAMP, default=func.now(), onupdate=func.current_timestamp())

Engine creation and entities binding :

bases = {
    "TEST": TestBase.metadata.

I am trying to pinpoint and troubleshoot an issue we have been seeing lately. We have several SQL Outbound Adapter Operations that are seeing issues trying to connect to our MS SQL Servers using the JDBC Gateway for calling insert, select, update, and stored procedure calls.

ERROR <Ens>ErrFailureTimeout: FailureTimeout of 20 seconds exceeded in osuwmc.Visit.
