I’ve been exploring options for connecting Google Cloud Pub/Sub with InterSystems IRIS/HealthShare, but I noticed that IRIS doesn’t seem to ship with any native inbound/outbound adapters for Pub/Sub. Out of the box, IRIS offers adapters for technologies like Kafka, HTTP, FTP, and JDBC, which are great for many use cases, but Pub/Sub appears to be missing from the list.

Has anyone here implemented such an integration successfully?

For example:

  • Would it make sense to leverage IRIS’s Business Service + REST API adapter to connect to Google’s Pub/Sub REST endpoints?

Introduction

In a previous article, I presented the IRIStool module, which seamlessly integrates the pandas Python library with the IRIS database. Now, I'm explaining how we can use IRIStool to leverage InterSystems IRIS as a foundation for intelligent, semantic search over healthcare data in FHIR format.

This article covers what I did to create the database for another of my projects, the FHIR Data Explorer. Both projects are candidates in the current InterSystems contest, so please vote for them if you find them useful.

You can find them at the Open Exchange:

In this article we'll cover:

  • Connecting to InterSystems IRIS database through Python
  • Creating a FHIR-ready database schema
  • Importing FHIR data with vector embeddings for semantic search

This is the second post of a series explaining how to create an end-to-end Machine Learning system.

Exploring Data

The InterSystems IRIS already has what we need to explore the data: an SQL Engine! For people who used to explore data in csv or text files this could help to accelerate this step. Basically we explore all the data to understand the intersection (joins) which should help to create a dataset prepared to be used by a machine learning algorithm.

Keywords:   Jupyter Notebook, Tensorflow GPU, Keras, Deep Learning, MLP,  and HealthShare

1. Purpose and Objectives

In  previous"Part I" we have set up a deep learning demo environment. In this "Part II" we will test what we could do with it.

Many people at my age had started with the classic MLP (Multi-Layer Perceptron) model. It is intuitive hence conceptually easier to start with.

So let's try a Keras "deep learning MLP" with standard demo data that everybody in AI/NN community has been using. It is a kind of so called "supervised learning".

Hello everyone,
I’m looking to implement Continuous Training (CT) as part of an MLOps strategy for some data science projects in IRIS. I want to automate the full cycle:

- Monitoring model performance & accuracy degradation.
- Retraining models automatically.
- Validating and updating production models.

I’ve looked into IntegratedML, but it seems more focused on the SQL interface for training (AutoML). Even with the new Custom Models (beta), which allows for more flexibility with Python, it doesn't seem to provide the "Continuous" orchestration out of the box.

I’d like to know:

We’re looking for Python developers to participate in our Embedded Python Early Access Program!  If you (or someone you know) are a Python developer and are interested, please contact us via the email address below.

InterSystems is bringing the power and simplicity of Python to IRIS.  We’re hard at work integrating Python directly into the IRIS kernel, making it a full peer to ObjectScript.

Schematron is a rule-based validation language for making assertions about the presence or absence of certain patterns in XML documents. A schematron refers to a collection of one or more rules containing tests. Schematrons are written in a form of XML, making them relatively easy for everyone, even non-programmers, to inspect, understand, and write

Within IRIS I defined a task to export audit data every day.

I provide some sample files in my GitHub repo.

I wrote ObjectScript code to import all files into otw.audit.consolidator class.

I want to use Python SQLAlchemy, pandas and sqlalchemy-iris (created by Dmitry Maslenikov) to copy consolidated audit data from my consolidator class in my IRIS container to my InterSystems Cloud SQL deployment.

I updated my Dockerfile to pip3 install sqlalchemy-iris and pandas (dataframes).

docker-compose build –no-cache in my personal AWS took 700 seconds.

Hi all,

Some days ago, I've seen a youtuber talking about how to create a neural network (sorry, is in spanish)

In short, it uses the neural network to learn how to convert degrees Celsius to degrees Fahrenheit.
Degrees Fahrenheit = (degrees Celsius × 9/5) +32
In this video, he uses Python to create the neural network, where he creates a table with the values of degrees Celsius and degrees Fahrenheit.

Hi Developers,

Please welcome the new video specially recorded by InterSystems Product Manager @Bob Kuszewski for the 3rd InterSystems Online Programming Contest on InterSystems IRIS Native API:

⏯ Using the IRIS Native API GitHub Template

What’s the contest about?

In the last year, InterSystems added and expanded Native APIs for Java, .NET, Python, and Node.js. The Native API provides high speed access to globals, the ability to instantiate and use ObjectScript objects, and fine-grained control over transactions.

Hi all,

Does anybody have the same issue?

$ZF(-100) to run python script not work when directly execute in studio or in storedproc called by TrakCare, but can work when do in iris session.

The python script imports a "barcode" package. It seems that when directly execute in studio or in storedproc called by TrakCare, the package can not be imported.

s r = $ZF(-100,"/SHELL", "/usr/bin/python3.9","/trak/cnpubase/tc/webfiles/web/custom/CNPU/script/py/barcode/genslbarcodetest.py",keyStr,path)
import sys
import barcode
from barcode.writer import ImageWriter
spn=sys.argv[1]
name=sys.

Question Steve Pisani · Jan 29, 2022

Hi,

What is the Python syntax I can use from a ClassMethod (developed in an IRIS using embedded Python), in order to invoke another class method,

- in the same class; and

- in another class.

I see 'self' is synonymous to use $this (..) in ObjectScript, but these are ClassMethods I am invoking, and self did not seem to work.

thanks - Steve

We have a rule to disable a user account if they have not logged in for a certain number of days. IRIS Audit database logs many events such as login failures for example. It can be configured to log successful logins as well. We have IRIS clusters with many IRIS instances. I like to run queries against audit data from ALL IRIS instances and identify user accounts which have not logged into ANY IRIS instance.
