My team is trying to decide on the best Git strategy for a group of related but separate projects/environments.

One side prefers one repo per project/environment/namespace for cleaner separation. The other side prefers one repo with multiple project folders so shared code and releases are easier to manage in one place.

The challenge is that these projects are separate enough that boundaries matter but related enough that some utilities and common logic may need to be reused. We also want the setup to be easy for developers to understand and not become a deployment nightmare later.

Hi community,

I've been working on a side project that I'd love to get some eyes on: a ground-up rebuild of the classic IRIS Production Monitor using a modern web stack. The existing ZEN/CSP-based portal does the job, but I wanted to explore what a contemporary, real-time version of it could look like.


What it is

A standalone Angular web application that connects to any Interoperability-enabled IRIS namespace and gives you a live view of your production — services, processes, operations, queues, event log, and message traffic — all in one screen.

Hello everyone,

I am André from MedVertical. We are exploring InterSystems-native ways to operationalize continuous FHIR conformance: repeatable regression runs, baseline/delta comparisons, and evidence-style reporting to detect drift after releases and IG changes.

In many FHIR implementations, validation is done “point-in-time” in pre-prod, but conformance degrades in production due to IG/profile updates, terminology changes, mapping evolution, upstream releases, and configuration drift.

Some questions to jog your discussion/comments below:

  1. What's one enhancement that would drastically change your experience or enable faster schema configurations?
  2. If you are not a user of this feature (but need to create custom schemas/view your schemas), why do you not use the schema viewer?

I know the next ones:

1. Place all different settings in environment variables. You have a different .env file for each environment, and you must add some code to Production for reading and setting these values. It's good for deploying into containers, but challenging for management when we have a large production. I mean, we have many settings that can vary depending on the environment: active flag, pool size, timeouts, and so on. Not only endpoints.

Hi all,
I needed to pick up the username from a set of credentials configured for a business operation in an interop production, and it turned out to take a few steps, so I'm sharing my method here, in the dual hope that someone has an easier way to do it, or failing that, that it is useful to someone.

Hello Community,

I'm currently planning a system upgrade from Caché (2018.1.8.766) to InterSystems IRIS (2024.1). The environment consists of one database server and three application servers connected via ECP.

I’m considering two possible upgrade approaches:

  1. Upgrade the application servers to IRIS first.
    Since IRIS is expected to be backward-compatible with Caché over ECP, the database server would remain on Caché temporarily.
  2. Upgrade the database server first,
    followed by upgrading the application servers, as they don’t store data.
