In healthcare, interoperability is the ability of different information technology systems and software applications to communicate, exchange data, and use the information that has been exchanged.
Hi Developers!
Let me share with you some exercises from a workshop about developing interoperability components in Java using PEX (Production EXtension).
You will find slides and step by step exercises about:
Understanding simple PEX components coded in Java.
Making some changes on them.
All built using containers, so you don't need to build a local Java environment.

Hello community; this may seem odd, but I need to know if there's any way we could be using callin functions from a C application without knowing? e.g. if other developers created some C programs that call in to Caché that we don't realize are running. Is that possible? If so, where would I look to see these programs? Perhaps the server's task manager?

Not so long ago, I came across the idea of using Python Class Definition Syntax to create IRIS classes on the InterSystems Ideas Portal. It caught my attention since integrating as many syntaxes as possible gives visibility to InterSystems’s products for programmers with experience in many languages.
We're looking to grow our team by adding an experienced healthcare interoperability resource to focus on Participant onboarding and troubleshooting, and testing and evaluation of in-house and third-party software solutions to ensure compliance with organizational standards and requirements.
Details of position are available on our Careers page.
I am busy trying out the %UnitTest.TestProduction class to implement some automated production testing.
I have a scenario which I am not sure how to get the final results of for assertion. Below is the scenario I am trying to test, with comments on what I have done.
The concept of low code development is getting more and more important across all industries. Everybody who is starting to get into low code programming, will inevitably come across Node-RED. InterSystems IRIS is renowned for its interoperability and so should be accessible via Node-RED.
I am recruiting on a fully remote Intersystems Developer. This role will be a long term contract to begin with high likelihood of extensions or conversion permanent. Please check out the job description down below and feel free to send me an email with your resume: Spencer.Frey@insightglobal.com
I am demonstrating a use case of how we can create an IRIS Interoperability Production for special use in an external language. InterSystems IRIS, within Interoperability has a framework called Production Extension (PEX), using which we can create productions and program them as per their purpose using external languages like Java, Python etc, and also develop custom inbound and outbound adapters to communicate with other applications.

Business Rules can define a context object, whose properties are exposed and used in the expressions of the rules. For example, my context object is an object with 3 properties. PropA, PropB and PropC.
When constructing my rules, I can call a custom function, and I have one I built myself called 'myFunction' which takes arguments and I pass in properties of my context object. (I can pass in the value of the context object's PropA, B or C).
I am working on Converting Non HL7 message (Using record maps) into HL7 message.
1.Can anyone share few details how to save Non HL7 message into SQL table and the converted HL7 message into SQL table
2.In Message Viewer is there any SQL tables are linked to the session id or where the information regarding the message will be stored? Will the message trace details are stored in globals or in SQL table,If yes can anyone share the details in which tables or globals will it be stored?
New from InterSystems Online Learning: two new exercises that help you get hands-on with InterSystems IRIS to see how easy it is to use to solve your problems!
Poor glycemic control is associated with a greater risk of miscarriage, NICU admission, operative delivery, and shorter gestational periods. Especially at risk are those with preexisting diabetes, who would benefit from maintaining near-normal glycemia before conception.
Check out this short demo on the InterSystems Developer YouTube channel showing how the new Production Component Driver can be used for Source Control of Interoperability Productions.
The driver enables highly granular management of interoperability productions with tight integration into the InterSystems IRIS management portal.
