My experience working with FHIR

Hi Community,

I want to share my experience creating the iris-fhir-portal with FHIR.

I decided to take a step forward and join the IRIS for Health FHIR contest, but I had never worked with FHIR before.

After the FHIR Contest Kick-Off Webinar, where we got an overview of how the IRIS for Health works with FHIR, I started to looking at the FHIR documentation to create my Patient Chart project.

Updating Patient Resource using fhir.js

Hi Community,

I shared my experience working with FHIR for the first time in this article.

In that article, I wrote how I explored the FHIR Resources and talked about the information that I found useful in FHIR documentation.

The first version of my app only shows the information that FHIR Resource provides.

I wanted to make the user able to update the patient details, so I to search for an example of how to do it.

Clinical Viewer for SMART Apps

The product I'm using is HealthConnect ( this installation HSAP-2017.1.1.111.0.17521-hscore15.03-b8382-win_x64.exe). Do I have access to the Information Exchange Clinical Viewer ? Is there a way to install this and connect it up to my HealthShare FHIR repository?

Creating FHIR questionnaires

Intersystems IRIS for Health has excellent support for the FHIR industry standard. The main features are:
1. FHIR Server
2. FHIR Database
3. REST and ObjectScript API for CRUD operations on FHIR resources (patient, questionnaire, vaccines, etc.)

This article demonstrates how to use each of these features, as well as presenting an angular frontend for creating and viewing Quiz-like FHIR resources.

The InterSystems Iris Fhirserver running on a Raspberry Pi Raspberry running as a FHIRserver

Raspberry running as FHIRserver

About a year ago I wrote some articles about the installation of the HAPI FHIRserver on a Raspberry Pi. At that time, I only knew the basics of the FHIR standard, little about the technology behind FHIR-servers and not much more about the Raspberry. By trying, failing, giving up and trying again I learned a lot.

Easy CSV TO FHIR - InterSystems Contest

Hello everyone, I’m a French student in academical exchange for my fifth year of engineering school and here is my participation in the FHIR for Women's Health contest.

This project is supposed to be seen as the backend of a bigger application. It can be plugged into a Front End app and help you gather information from your patients. It will read your data in local and use a Data Transformation to make it into a FHIR object before sending it to the included local FHIR server.

FHIR has revolutionized the healthcare industry by providing a standardized data model for building healthcare applications and promoting data exchange between different healthcare systems. As the FHIR standard is based on modern API-driven approaches, making it more accessible to mobile and web developers. However, interacting with FHIR APIs can still be challenging especially when it comes to querying data using natural language.

Hello Developers!

Have you ever had to convert HL7v2 messages to FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) and found the process complicated and confusing? InterSystems is rolling out a new cloud based SaaS offering called InterSystems FHIR Transformation Service, which makes the process easy. We are excited to announce an Early Access Preview Program for our new offering, and we would love to have you kick the tires and let us know what you think! All you need is a free AWS account, with an S3 bucket to drop in your HL7v2 messages, and another S3 bucket to get your FHIR output.

Hey Community,

We are glad to invite you to the upcoming kick-off webinar on the FHIR for Women's Health programming contest.

FemTech (software for women’s health) is an integral part of modern healthcare delivery that individualizes care and encourages patient empowerment. The women’s digital health market is projected to continue to grow as we prioritize and de-stigmatize women’s health issues.

In this webinar, we'll show you some of the general principles and problems of solving issues connected to women's health, as well as share some great ideas for your inspiration. As always, we’ll discuss and answer the questions on how to build solutions using InterSystems IRIS for Health.

Date & Time: Monday, November 14 – 11:00 AM EDT

Speakers:

Hello;

I have created an App launch to my FHIR app in the sandbox and am able to access Patients that are provided in the Sandbox. Having done this, I would now like to upload a test patient in a FHIR bundle to the sandbox, however I have not been able to find out how I can do this.

Can you provide some direction/tools that I can use to upload my bundle to the sandbox?

Thanks

-Rand

Hi,

We have a mixture of legacy and new systems, and are grappling with the issue of moving documents between systems.

At the moment we are mostly using file drops and encoding metadata in filenames, but a new supplier (letter transcription) is going to provide a Hl7v2 feed sending MDM^T02 messages with PDF's of letters base64 encoded in the message itself.

We are thinking of asking all our suppliers to go with MDM (or ORU) for sending documents.

I'm interested in the pros and cons of the options; and if there are options I haven't thought of.

We are ridiculously good at mastering data. The data is clean, multi-sourced, related and we only publish it with resulting levels of decay that guarantee the data is current. We chose the HL7 Reference Information Model (RIM) to land the data, and enable exchange of the data through Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®).

HI,

Has anyone implemented the NHS Care Connect profile in HealthShare and if so could you share the steps you took?

I am not looking to integrate it into the SDA model, Just looking having the classes within HealthShare and then applying a DTL to convert to HL7 2.x

I was hoping i could just down load the profiles from git hub and import into Studio but it appears I need the XSD to do this, which are not available.

Cheers,

Jason
