I am currently recruiting a very exciting position to work for a leading Healthcare software provider who are on the lookout for an experienced InterSytems Cache/Ensemble Developer for a 4 month contract!
This will be working on a leading Childrens Health Product and developing applications for the NHS, particularly working on a migration.
The navigation by default returns the Total records, how can I change that or allow the navigator to only show the number of records in the current page, or is there a property of Tablepane that returns the current page records No?
InterSystems has corrected a defect that can cause corruption of databases and journal files on AIX systems with IBM POWER8 or later POWER processors. This defect can be triggered only when database or journal encryption is in use.
For volatile tables (tables with many INSERTs and DELETEs), storage for bitmap indexes can become inefficient over time.
For example, suppose that there are thousands of data with the following definition, and the operation of bulk deletion with TRUNCATE TABLE after being retained for a certain period of time is repeatedly performed.
If multiple InterSystems products are installed on the same system, the latest version of the InterSystems ODBC driver among the installed products will remain registered in the driver manager.
You can change to any driver by changing the registry entry below.
Please note that running RegFiles.bat does not change the ODBC driver.
My name is Malcolm King and I’m an experienced IT Professional seeking full time employment. I have 25 years of experience in the software development industry, with a wide variety of skills and knowledge. I have been involved in writing both front and back end code, along with interfacing to multiple systems, using multiple languages such as Cache Objectscript, C#, Java, Javascript and SQL.
Last week I was onsite with a new customer of ours, implementing Deltanji to give them control of their development and deployment cycle. One particularly satisfying part of the visit was seeing their pleasure at how their production class now records its changes over time, allowing them to quickly diff the versions and see what configuration items have been added or what settings altered.
This is a nice introductory explanation of MQTT that I thought would be of general interest. The technology used for the broker in this case is not that important as there are several brokers available.
At global summit we will be demonstrating ways to use MQTT with Ensemble to get information from the Internet of Things into your enterprise applications and business processes,
Presenter: Mark Massias Task: Present complete, contextualized information to the people who must act as part of a (mostly) automated business process Approach: Give examples of using InterSystems’ workflow engine.
More and more business processes are automated, but sometimes a person needs to make a decision. In some cases policies require an individual to approve an expenditure, or when loading data a person needs to sort out exceptions where the data in not clear. This session explains how to include people in business processes in a way that presents the user with a complete context for the decision they have to make.
Problem: Using human workflow to fix business process problems.
Content related to this session, including slides, video and additional learning content can be found here.
In Ensemble 2016.3 ‘Java Business Hosts’ provides the means to create new Business Services and Business Operations using Java without need for any ObjectScript coding. There are two major reasons to use this capability:

Our latest issues of Developments and Developments Healthcare Edition have been posted to the Developments Archive site, where you'll also find other previous issues. Learn about InterSystems API Manager, preview releases of InterSystem IRIS and IRIS for Health, and live webinars this month about how you can easily move your Ensemble or Caché applications to InterSystems IRIS.
Currently, many of you has some knowledge about CachéQuality (which is being renamed to objectscriptQuality) for analyzing objectscript code using the rules we have predefined. Probably you have tested it and have found too many warnings in your projects. I'm sure there are issues which are really important for you and some others which you would like to dismiss.
InterSystems has corrected two defects that, in rare circumstances, can result in data integrity corruption after running global compaction, database compaction, or database defragmentation. InterSystems recommends avoiding these utilities until after applying the corrections listed below.
When used in certain Deltanji workflows, triggering an automatic checkout on first keystroke could result in the developer working on an outdated copy of the code and only being notified of this later when saving their changes. In order to prevent this from happening checkout now reloads the document immediately.
Error messaging has been improved in two areas - when attempting to cancel code that is not checked out, and when trying to register new code onto a withdraw system.
We have also improved interoperability between the Deltanji extension and the InterSystems ObjectScript one, as well as its handling of multi-component objects.
If you're already a user of Deltanji then your extension with automatically update. You can find out more information on Deltanji and the latest release here.
The latest release of Serenji by George James Software introduces zero configuration debugging, so it's ready to go in just one click - no matter where you are or what you're doing, your on-the-spot debugger is ready to go.
We have introduced a host of new features to enhance the debugging experience so you can focus on identifying and fixing errors, without losing focus by spending time setting up a launch configuration.
The latest release of Serenji focuses on the debug experience. Not only can you now debug on the spot, no matter where you are or what you're doing, but we've also added some smaller features that will make debugging more straightforward.
Run and Debug CodeLenses - clickable links above each class method, procedure, subroutine or extrinsic function.
Intuitive prompting for entrypoints and arguments - when debugging a class method, produce, subroutine or extrinsic function.
Shaded read-only background - to clearly differentiate between documents which are editable and those that are read-only.
Program output in debug console - output is shown in the debug console.
Serenji commands on Server Manager's namespace trees - allowing you to launch Serenji through Server Manager.
We're looking forward to seeing everyone at the InterSystems Global Summit next week!
George James Software will be there offering demos of our Deltanji source control. It has been proven to improve efficiencies within for individual developers, larger organizations, and everyone in between by bringing clarity to the development of your system. It encourages configuration management, versioning, and process control to improve the quality of your code.
If you would like to find out more, look out for us in the Partner Pavilion or book in for our User Group session during lunch on Wednesday, June 22nd. Email laurelj@georgejames.com to let us know you'll be there.
I'm getting a lot of hs_err_pid.mdmp & hs_err_pis.txt error files in the path where Cache.DAT in located and as I googled these seems to be Java error files and I'm wondering what this has to do with Ensemble, and is it alright to just delete them?
Thank you to everyone who joined our User Group Session yesterday!
It was great showing off the new Deltanji Production Component driver that facilitates source control of interoperability productions, and we had some really insightful discussions as well.
If you missed out on the session and would like a copy of the recording, feel free to drop me a message.
Are you new to Ensemble? InterSystems provides several tools to learn the basics of Ensemble and get on your way to becoming an expert in the technology. Before installing Ensemble, take a look at the Ensemble Technology Overview and Getting Started with Ensemble in documentation. Respectively, these documents explain features and major components of Ensemble as well as how to install the software.
Steve Glassman is on vacation today so in his place I wanted to announce the availability of a new kit for the 2016.3 Field Test. The kit details are: 2016.3.0.628.0
Most of the changes are related to DeepSee, DocDB data models and dynamic objects. You can find a complete listing here:
The article is a step by step guide for beginners to learn how to build a RESTful web service consumer (or client) in Ensemble. The provider can be any RESTful service, but the example is based on the service we made during the previous sessions.
In this article, we'll talk about an application that I use every day when monitoring applications and integration solutions on the InterSystems IRIS platform and finding errors when they occur.
