The invention and popularization of Large Language Models (such as OpenAI's GPT-4) has launched a wave of innovative solutions that can leverage large volumes of unstructured data that was impractical or even impossible to process manually until recently.
Recently, I needed to create templates for newsletters. I couldn't find any tools, so I decided to use the CSP (Caché Server Pages) to build the templates.
Let's figure out how to make a newsletter similar to Weekly OEX Digest.
We have a lot of good articles posted on Community to the date. Even more questions with great answers (see the stats). Thank you for your contribution!
So sometimes it worth to use search to find an answer or the best practices or the post you remember was posted but cannot find.
A simple production that enables FHIR transaction bundles to be loaded into InterSystems® FHIR® Server via Box and Dropbox. Using the included MFT Connection Components and a 14 liner Custom Business Process, this production will process your transaction bundles to FHIR Resources for immediate consumption with Harry Potter like wizardry. Great for Hackathons, Research and FHIR® Cocktail parties.
Let’s imagine that you are a Python developer or have a well-trained team specialized in Python, but the deadline you got to analyze some data in IRIS is tight. Of course, InterSystems offers many tools for all kinds of analyses and treatments. However, in the given scenario, it is better to get the job done using the good old Pandas and leave the IRIS for another time.
In this post, we would like to tell you how to take the most out of the Developer Community, to learn as much as you can from the InterSystems experts on the technology!
Pay attention to these steps to become an advanced user of our community!
For a long time, we have been using a utility in production to export the result of a query to an Excel spreadsheet. Moreover, we have applied a modification of it, in which the explicit setting of column formats is a priority.
It's a challenge when you need, as a software architect, design a corporate architecture to meet the current business requirements, you need achieve level 5. With InterSystems IRIS. it's possible. With 1 product you get SQL + NoSQL + ESB + BI + Open Analytics + Real time virtual cubes + NLP + AutoML + ML (with Python) and Advanced cloud + Sharding support.
The input in today's challenge consists of an encrypted name, a dash, a sectorID, a dash and a checksum between brackets. A name is real if the checksum is equal to the five most common letters in the encypted name.
We just faced an issue of the Atelier main menubar being disabled (greyed out) after upgrading the macOS development machine to High Sierra. I would like to share my findings about the issue and how to fix it.
The InterSystems IRIS has a good connector to do Hadoop using Spark. But the market offers other excellent alternative to Big Data Hadoop access, the Apache Hive. See the differences:
Organizations around the world lose an estimated five percent of their annual revenues to fraud, according to a survey of Certified Fraud Examiners (CFEs) who investigated cases between January 2010 and December 2011. Applied to the estimated 2011 Gross World Product, this figure translates to a potential total fraud loss of more than $3.5 trillion (source: https://www.acfe.com/press-release.aspx?id=4294973129).
Have you ever needed a math function but could not find what you needed and ended up writing your own? Look no further! ObjectScript-Math is here to solve all your math related function needs.
ObjectScript-Math is an Open Source library for ObjectScript Math functions. It is now available on Open Exchange. This library contains a mix of new functions that are not currently available and functions that are available. The existing functions will be wrapped for use from ObjectScript-Math so that all Math functions can have a central location.
This library will continue to grow, so give it a try and give your feedback!
Don't see what you are looking for? Please feel free to submit requests for additional functions or contribute code yourself!
(Possibly?) little-known fact: It's possible to use $ListBuild on the left hand side of the equals sign in a set command to extract multiple list values at once:
set $ListBuild(several,individual,variables) = list
By default InterSystems IRIS expose your endpoints using http, but can be necessary run https from your dev env and/or get public internet access to your app. You can buy or get a certificate and config a gateway, spending many hours or use a great public service called ngrok. Follow the steps:
1 - Run your app, I will use FHIR template as sample, see:
This series of articles would cover Python Gateway for InterSystems Data Platforms. Execute Python code and more from InterSystems IRIS. This project brings you the power of Python right into your InterSystems IRIS environment:
Our team is reworking an application to use REST services that use the same database as our current ZEN application. One of the new REST endpoints uses a query that ran very slowly when first implemented. After some analysis, we found that an index on one of the fields in the table greatly improved performance (a query that took 35 seconds was now taking a fraction of a second).
Running predictive models natively in an InterSystems IRIS Business Process has of course always been the goal of our PMML support, but somehow never made it into the kit because there were a few dependencies and choices that needed addressing and answering. Anyhow, thanks to some pushing and code kindly provided by @Amir Samary (Thanks again Amir!), we finally got it wrapped in a GitHub repo for your enjoyment, review and suggestions.
InterSystems ObjectScript is perhaps the best language on the planet to deal with globals - and it is an interpretable language.
Yes, it has a compiler. But even the compiler can compile some lines in ObjectScript which will then fire as bugs during the runtime.
There are some technics on how to avoid that such as unit testing, coding guidelines and your coding experience, of course ;)
Here I want to present to you the yet another approach to how you can reduce the number of errors in your ObjectScript runtime and enforce coding guidelines - it's an ObjectScript Quality tool developed by Lite Solutions, InterSystems solution partner.
Brainstorming the project we would build to showcase in the current female health themed InterSystems FHIR Contest, our girl band decided that we need to do something practical for the ordinary user and to solve some burning issues of the modern life. This discussion led to the idea of creating a project that will help women not to forget their health in daily grind - FemTech Reminder.
In part 1 and part 2 of this series we set up two user types, simpleuser and poweruser. In this part of the tutorial we create one last user type having privileges typically needed by an administrator/developer in analytics.
